In February of 1997 founder David "Duke" Brown set out with a vision to create a top quality, full service, environmental contracting company. This vision was started with a truck mounted GEOPROBE unit and a strong determination to succeed. Since that date DESI has grown to a multi-million dollar environmental contracting company servicing Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Kentucky.

Most recently DESI acquired the soft assets of one of the oldest 24 hour Emergency response providers in Indiana, Spill Recovery of Indiana and SROI Environmental. In addition to the services our clients are accustomed to DESI providing, we are now capable of handling a full scope of HazMat emergency response to include BioHazard and Mercury Response. DESI / Spill Recovery of Indiana will continue to expand and improve upon these services.  Over the past 2 years since acquisition, DESI has proven to be a leader in the emergency response field.  Our clients have expressed extreme satisfaction.  Our client list consists of Private companies, Public Companies, Government Agencies, Insurance Companies, and individuals.

In addition to quality service, DESI is dedicated to a "Safe Work" environment. DESI plays an active roll in the safety programs of many of our clients. DESI also maintains a stringent Safety Program that is enforced on all work sites. All field employees are currently trained to meet a minimum of the 40 Hour HazWoper (29 CFR 1910.120) program, Confined Space Entry, Blood Bourne Pathogen Training, BP Bovis/Passport Training, as well as CSX Rail Training. All Hepatitis Vaccination program, Respiratory Protection Program and frequent, random Drug and Alcohol Screening. DESI also provides specialty training and certification to employees to include Indiana Well Drillers License, UST/AST Tank Decommissioning and Advanced 80 Hour HazMat Tech Training. DESI maintains a Current EMR rating that is unmatched by many of our competitors.
